Embellish in me...

I am loving embellishment right now and I'm hoping it'll hold out long enough for my birthday without being the played out trend....my hope is its a little too much for people, at least the way I'd rock it! See if you can see how I plan to make an outfit from these inspirational piccys!

I wont say I'll post a picture when I'm finished as 9/10 I'm far too drunk to remember to have a picture taken...I'll try though! ;)

Through the wire....

Last weekend I enjoyed a rather hazey but fun night with 2 of my best friends, although I wish I could hyperthetically burn every photo I am in as I did not feel nice nor did I look it! I made the UNrash decision that it is ONLY black, black and more black on any nights out from now on, that is until my reluctant body decides its goin to play ball!

My first instinct was ok, so I'll feel and look slightly slimmer, but black...uggghh it can be so blah for a night out and coming into spring - is it a mistake-a to make-a?

I browsed through Vogue and saw the Chanel campaigns - tre' fetish! And thought, Sara, you must try harder to work this!
So I took a gander online, Vogue.co.uk, Style.com, Who,What,Wear, MyWardobe.com & finally Elle.co.uk! I should have known to go there first, the little gem that some people dismiss (*coughs Ellephant) as its not Vogue. And although it isn't, it is, in its own way a ridiculously good fashion bible. I've never dicriminated between the two, I'm a fashion lover not a fighter...
Anyway to cut it short(er?) I found inspiration in a place I didn't think I would, in the mind of Kanye West. Now don't get me wrong I knew of his talent, it could be seen a long time ago, but for some reason I just didnt think I would find his AW/12 line so inspiring to my new "black only" outfit planning!

I love when I get something between my teeth and my every thought is "ooohh, I could do that" and "oh my gosh!I CANNOT wait to get home and do that!!!!"...inspiration is like cocaine to me, or at least I think it would be? Don't do drugs kids...or adults for that matter, its terrible for your skin!

So the basis of the outfit is my ol' faithful chiffon top from Urban Outfitters and a make shift pencil skirt...Then the d-i-y-ing...a belt round the neck, stitch on a few buckles...I tried it on last night and if that isn't some dominatrix ish, I don't know what is!!ha

Then the piece de resitance'....my Office quite fetish platforms, worn with a fishnet sock ala' Rihanna, add a lace trim to get that Dolce and Gabbana look...ooohhh I hope it looks good, I'll keep you posted!

McQueen and I

Hi fashionistas,

I want to tell you about a fascinating biopic More4 aired on Alexander McQueen last week. If you didnt catch it you can view it again on 4ondemand.

The documentary shows amazing footage of the designers catwalk shows and collections from the early 90's to his final collection. I was always aware of who Alexander McQueen was and loved his designs but its only looking back now you fully realise how massively influential his designs were and how much they have been replicated on the high street - For example who can say that they havent got an item of clothing or accessory with a skull design on...?

The film includes interviews with his close friends and family and includes archive footage of former Vogue Editor Isabella Blow with whom he had a turbulent friendship and had a major influence on his career.

The biopic also highlights how much his designs and clothes were an extension of himself, his history and state of mind...as a former colleague of his said 'his death replicated his designs ..theatrical, dramatic and violent'.

Barbie vs. Barbz

Sooo...I was doing a little research on my previous blog & found Christian Louboutins Barbie range - only 2 have been released but it did take me back to sitting in my room with my Barbie & about 7 of my brothers Action Men (don't say it - even if your thinking it!haha) & I am telling you now, I would have given up every other toy I had if my Barbie was equipped like these.....!

First came love....

Then came marriage....

And then I found even MORE Barbie related things - your probably not that interested but I think they look A-mazing!
How can you not love Barbz... (and I was a little bit of a tomboy growing up too!)

And a little cover on these wouldn't be complete without a homage to the real life Barbie taking over the world!

If they made a doll based on these pics try and tell me you wouldn't buy it!!! God DAYYYYUUUUU...MMMNN!
