Hello everyone. Hope that your all alright. After much speculation about what to blog about I decided that film in Birmingham is something that must be addressed.
Last year saw us introduced to one of the first British films filmed and based solely in Birmingham. Yes that's right guys 'One day', The infamous film that was banned in Birmingham for its true representation of the underground scene. Many criticised the film for the violence, the glamorisation of drugs and money, however personally I think that the film was great. I think this film was proven evidence that Birmingham has talent [Such as JNR the artist], raw talent that can hold its own and bring pride to the city.
The film is not for the faint hearted or indeed people that want to hide from the reality of what life is like for some people, It has a great story line combined with strong thought out characters and a grittiness that is ever familiar throughout the UK. This film is a must see and something that will educate and entertain the audience throughout. Not to mention the music that has such artists as Lady Leesha who bring even more to the film.
If your interested in acting, music or dance then don't forget to check out your local resources [hippodrome] for dance classes, custard factory for acting classes and local artists for help with singing or vocal lessons.
I'm sure that much more films will get made in Birmingham. You never know you could be the next Hollywood star to come from Birmingham.
