Doorstep Art

Hello there,

So I have driven and walked past this particular bit of street art / graffiti several times now, and have finally gotten around to taking a picture. Its similar to Banksy's works although I believe he usually signs his.
I am not quite sure what it means but its interesting and I would love to know more about it - any ideas??

A little while after this was done a someone else came along to join in .....

I like him!! Although they do make an odd couple...

I had always thought he was a little blue monkey but now I am thinking sheep?! Answers on a postcard...!

Enjoy

Birmingham and Bluebells

Hi Peeps,

So I am sure if you are a Brummy or not you will agree or be aware of all the flack Birmingham gets, everyone seems to have an opinion on the city - good or bad whether they have visited the city or not...

I am not completely sure why people think its ok to constantly mock the 2nd city maybe they think they are just joining in on the joke? Either way give it a break ...please your boring me now.

This week I read two articles that sum up my point exactly.

The first is written by a narrow minded journalist who's main concern over the Highspeed rail link is that London will be overrun by Brummies and that we will be confused that someone offering us a Kipper Tie will mistakenly think they are offering a cup of tea...? Yes thats my biggest problem when I come to london I now have a ridiculously large collection of kipper ties.....

(Read the full article here if you really want to be offended... )
http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/lifestyle/article-24026833-euston-calling-with-hs2.do

If this 'journalist' (yes I am questioning how he can call himself that when he writes articles like this) had bothered to visit the city more than 3 times in his life he may realise that Brummies and people from the Black country have different accents and that the city is a great place to live, work and play - as is proved in the next article I read.

Now for some real journalism...

This week the New York Times - yes people the New York Times! Rated Birmingham as the 19th top place to go in 2012. Wow. They are telling people in New York to come to Birmingham I love it!!

So the article does kind of focus heavily on food - but that is just one of our delights, we also have amazing architecture (Victoria Square, Rotunda, Grade 1 listed buildings on Newhall Street), rich culture (Electric Cinema is Britains oldest cinema, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, Ikon Gallery) and we are home to over half of Europe's Bluebells - so not as Industrial as everyone thinks!

Victoria Square - water feature known to Brummies as the floozy in the jacuzzi!

Margaret Street.

Vintage at The Victoria

Hi Lovelies,

Sowe is back! We are taking part in an afternoon of vintage wonders and delights at The Victoria, Birmingham.

Sunday 29th January will be the date to get in your diary and we look forward to seeing you there.

The Victoria is located next to the Alexandra Theatre and its where all the cool kids hang out! They serve food and their amazing selection of cocktails will be 2 for the price of 1, so your even more likely to get a great deal from us Vintage sellers as we will all be tipsy!

The Victoria is a gorgeous traditional old pub from the outside, however on the inside it has a distinctly modern feel - the cocktails are amazing (they literally squeeze the blackberries in front of you hmmm)and have even been featured in Stylist magazine;

They have lots of interesting stuff going on check out their website;

Sowe will be there with lots of cosy knitted jumpers and some fresh spring wear to remind you that warmer weather is on its way..!

Vintage pastel pink dress, with gorgeous collar detail - Sowe

Beautiful cosy cardigan - Sowe

So come along and pop in have a cocktail buy something amazing and make the most of your Sunday!

Happy New Year

Happy new year lovelies,

Hope you saw in the new year in style!

Here are my sort of new years resolutions...

1. Skincare - This January I am using the Trilogy range, facewash and everything balm. It smells amazing and is available from Rackhams or online - prices start from £10...

2. Nails - I am a biter! But I find the best way to not bite my nails is by wearing nail varnish in a bright colour, I dont want to chip it so I dont bite them! This is a gorgeous peachy colour - part of the 2012 Chanel collection.

3. Wear more beautiful clothes! Ha you cant deny that wearing a gorgeous outfit makes you feel confident and happy, this doesnt have to mean spending a fortune - though obviously it helps!

I love the skirt below Acne £310- and I think you could easily find something similar in a vintage or charity shop.

Happy new year!
