Since the weekend I have been wearing my "Barry M" Mint Green nail polish, which when I first brought it at least 6 months ago didnt seem to look right on me, tan or no tan...

But suprisingly something has changed? I was a little tanned over the weekend ;) and had quite a few comments, and I ended up using it on my friend in a styling for an audition (fingers crossed)....

Now heres the reason for the blog, I washed my hair last night with Vosene, a shampoo I use when trying to strip color from my hair, recommended by my hairdresser (a refresher colour went too CoCo the Clown) and when I was messing round with some jewellery, experimenting how to wear them (yes, sometimes I do this while watching tv, you'd be suprised the ideas you have when its casually experimented!). Anyway, back on track, I noticed my nails were still a shade of mint green, but almost dulled, and I love the colour even more! I don't know whether its the Vosene or just a half weeks wear but I love! Check out my colour, and my much loved eagle ring, I usually just wear normally but I found wearing it on the thumb half way up frames the nail, what do you think? (I'm easily pleased,ha)

Rihanna's Dreads!

So predictably I'm doing a blog based on Rihanna...I don't care, predictability is structure and consistancy, 2 qualities that can be intertwined with its polar to create something special...Anyway, that probably does'nt make sense to you, but it does to me!ha

A few days ago Rihanna revealed a new look (who's know how temporary it is, the woman changes her hair as much as me!) for a performance of "Where have you been" on the American Idol Finale...the dreads suited the tribal feeling to the song (am I the only one who wants to do a mad tribally-over the top kinda dance to it), but also looked amazingly soft against her skin on the picture she tweeted...

Thinking about it there a large amount of musicians and actors who rock a real dread or fake it for a part...I love shakira and Jolies, the contrast of the blonde is a fave of my beautiful friend Nichola's. I love messy, little, large and neat, they can make someone look so different...

Bob Marley

Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow

Angelina Jolie in Gone in 60 seconds

Lauryn Hill

Camilla Belle in 10,000BC

Lil Wayne

Nikki Minaj

Whoopi Goldberg

Shakira

Lenny Kravitz

Give them a try...they dont have to be permanent, a lot of wax and hairspray will get you to the Shakira style above, trust me I've done it! Yeahhhhhhhhhh

Zara's dresses are as always killing it!

Oh I wish my arms were amazing, I would be purchasing this on the plastic!!!

Zara Floral print dress £49.99 - also available in green, but I think that colour would be very hard to pull off without the right hair colour and/or skintone!

I love the print, and the fact the back seems to be dominantley white (making your ass look big) and the front is dominantley black (making my also large breasts look smaller)...think I may have to go and try this on anyway and see how it works, even if its just for a changing room pic!ha

Someone rock it!

A Dye job!!!

My hairdresser in the past 2 years has taken me from auburn to bright Rihanna red, to blonde and back to copper...now those of you who don't know much about hair dying will not realise the challenge I put in her hands to go from red to blonde, and being me, I was ridiculously picky re shades! I had to go brunette in between to cancel out the red, and my hairdresser didnt even think I could go as blonde as I did, I know she loves my hair even though it challenges her so much! And after all her hard work to get me blonde I decided I was too blonde and rather than go dirty blonde again, I reverted back to my auburn roots...not my natural colour, but a colour that looks natural on me...love love LOVE it! I feel 100% me again....I don't regret experimenting with colour as I've always wanted to be a blonde for a while, and they do have fun! See my timeline of hair colours, I think the red bases suit me more than brunettes and blondes...

Home dying - before I trusted a hairdresser!ha I used a dark red that would sometimes show up a deep reddish purple dependant on what colours I wore...

The handywork of Emma (my first auburn colour/cut was the work of Che and later Sarah but neither now work for Niche)

I would definatley recommend that if you live anywhere in Birmingham to book in to see Emma at Niche, Acocks Green, she can work with all types of hair, and is honest about her expectations on how quickly or not in some cases you can go from one difficult colour to the next...luckily for an impatient client (me) my hair is reallyyyyyyyy durable and takes colour well! I am so lucky!

My latest trip last weekend started with a brief of, the auburn I used to be but a little more Bree but not too Bozo the Clown....and look what I got! Love it....what do you think?

Welcoming back part of me...

Tomorrow I'll be going back to my roots....! Well almost!

The past few years I have died my hair, bright red ala RiRi, Brown ala I had to for the next step and blonde ala my mom, *pauses for serenade of "aaagghhhh"...I loved my blonde hair while it was duuuurtttyyy but my last stint to the hairdressers left my roots bleached and toned and it went a little toooooo blonde for my liking!

So tommorrow I'll be returning to my "natural" colour of auburn/ginger-ish but with a little extra pop of colour, think Bree, not the cheese, the character...a little between both....post to come, and an updated prof pic with A-mezing fur of course!

Hope you like

Scarlet

P.S) I am AWARE my face is fatter than this now, and my thighs, I am working on it!ha

Follow up on the MET Ball 2012 dresses...

Ok maybe I was a little rushed...two more dresses I like...

Candice Swanepoel

My good friend Georgie pointed this blue hue out to me, I love the detailing on the back, but I know why I previously hastily pressed next...the front...not feeling the splits...would have been simpler if it was just left, I should know, I always try to do too much and have to rain it in!ha

Camilla Belle in Ralph Lauren

Very elegant and the pattern is reminiscent of Art Nouveau to me, my favuorite era...I think I would change the lipstick slightly though, I love the darkness but I think her skin tone could take a little more or less colour - I know what I mean! Love the nude nails too...

The blog that everyone is posting...MET Ball 2012

Here are my faves for the best dressed...to be honest I could have posted 80% of them as distasters, their hair and skin on some photos looked tired and weary...lets blame it on the camera! Other photos seemed much more flattering...

Gold position - My favourite look for the night...the cape is very me, blood red lips and vampish nails, oh and hair like its never seen a split in its life! - Lana Del Ray in Joseph Altuzarra

Silver position - Hip split!!! Wowzers (to die for) amazing shoes with delicate chain detail - Anja Rubik in Anthony Vaccarello

Bronze position - Simple, beautiful flattering colour, easy breazy hair...all of the "jazz" in the ostrich tail! - Diane Kruger in Prada

If I was to be wed.... Duh duh duh dummmmm!

Over the weekend Ellephant & I visited Croydon...well all talk turned to weddings and the FACT that what dress you think you want is what you actually end up loving! I have always thought that if it came down to the big W I would wed in a fishtail lace overlay number and change into something capable of dancing in for the party! But actually looking at dresses brang up a rather suprising soft floaty semi-princess side of me (eek)...but the amazing textures and structures still shone through strong in my faves!

Obviously anyone who knows ANYTHING about wedding dress designers knows of Vera Wang...the go-to for anyone who is privileged enough to be able to afford one...I looked at other designers for my Wish list but I only liked the Wang! ;)

This is what I would wear in the circumstance that firstly I was proposed to, and secondly I either won the lottery or married into wealth!haha The ones that aren't white are my fave....I can wish!

I never thoughI'd like this style but my gosh I don't think I could resist if it was this good!

Imagine the Marilyn Monroe walk in this!

I think you're a close favourite - bridesmaid in white!

Simple floaty, perfect for any setting...

Rather irritatingly I looked at the stores at which I would probably find a "deal", Debenhams, BHS, House of Fraser,etc...and NOT A SINGLE dress was for me! Now this could simply be a matter of trying it on but nothing at all caught my eye...not good! So I went down the wedding shop/boutique route, I should have known....a designer by the name of Maggie Sottero appealed to me. Her dresses are widely available at convieniently at White Lace in Coleshill, at the bottom of my road! Her website holds hundreds and I mean hundreds of dresses, some almost identical but have a slight tweak, perfect for me as I usually find a single thing I HATE when it comes to picking any dress!

And here are some by Maggie I presume will pack a price tag but one worthy for the detail. I don't think I'd find anything cheap, its just never happened that way before so why would it for the apparently most important dress of a girls life?

Minus the bow! Loveeeeeeee the veil!

A ruffle not too cowboy!

Some other "little" details - hair! Kim K got it right for me, up and chic for the ceremony, down and hollywood for the party...

I could'nt resist and I don't care how people look on this but the setting in Twilight 4 I adored...

Some other small, easy things that are simple but beyond effective..LOVE!

On a less "women are obsessed with marriage" note...This took days to collate and I'd never looked before, I don't spend my every waking second thinking of my dress, how I'd wear my hair, the shoes....ok, well maybe the shoes! (note:find shoes) And nor do most other women, its just one of those things that is brought up in conversation, it has been drummed in for centuries afterall, and ultimatley its just an extension of our style and taste...I'm sure we talk about it FAR less men talk about ________ (insert football foul/result/etc)
